ABOUT MY MUSIC
Intimate and laid-back, this debut album from Matt Case features 7 new original recordings, offering a revealing look into the artist’s awe-filled reverence for his Creator. With soul-baring honesty, this collection of contemporary music explores the depth of God’s love and His tremendous desire for people to know Him and experience His peace. The overwhelming assurance of God’s presence and everlasting love is clearly seen in the poignant lyrics of the title track “If You Need Me,” a contemporary piece later re-imagined as a moving acoustic ballad. While the album’s primary focus is Matt’s spiritual journey, “You’re the One” and “You’ve Always Got Me” tenderly express his deep love for his wife. This project resonates with authenticity at every turn, inviting its listeners to heartfelt worship.
More About the Music
If You Need Me
DEUTERONOMY 31:6 NASB
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.
How often do we find ourselves in a difficult place in life and we wonder not only whether or not God is actually "there" but whether or not He is actually listening to our cries for help? Yet, we can be assured that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He longs to hear us talk to Him for He has gone to the point of sacrificing His own son to take our place on the cross.
You're the One
PROVERBS 18:22 NASB
He who finds a wife finds a good thing
And obtains favor from the Lord.
Truly one of the greatest things a man can experience in this life is to be joined together with a wife who has been born again and desires to honor the Lord with her life. I'm sure there are many who can agree that once you've found "the one" you just know! I heard someone say one time, "don't marry the one you can live with, marry the one you can't live without." This is certainly the experience of my life; I found the one wife for me, and I've found favor with the Lord.
Sweep You Away
MATTHEW 11:28-30 NASB
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Are you hurting, lonely, abandoned? Are you burdened with the weight of religion or your struggle to be "good enough"? Jesus says if we will only come to Him, we will find rest. And this rest is not just a shallow, temporary nap...no it's rest for our soul! It is the rest and peace that can only come from surrendering our lives to Him. Take His yoke and you will see; His burden is light.
ACTS 17: 24-25 NASB
The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
The God who formed the universe with His spoken Word, and who created the life of all mankind with but a breath, desires to dwell among us. Wow! What a great God! And though we are sinful man, He still freely gives of Himself to all who believe. It is by Him, that we all live and breathe. Oh how this truth of life is worth celebrating! For His heart is good and if His eye is on the sparrow, how much more does He watch over us!
You've Always Got Me
GENESIS 2:23-24 NASB
The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Joined together as one flesh; God has an interesting way of looking at things doesn't He? We live in a day and age where we keep things as long as they keep us interested, then we throw them out. Too often we treat people the same way. But God said that when a man and women join in marriage, they become one flesh. That's special, that's unique to the human experience and not something to take lightly. It is my hope and prayer that my wife will always know that she's got me.
How Could He
Romans 5:8 NASB
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
How could He? How could Jesus, while I was still yet a sinner, even consider dying for me? How could God, while I was lost in my own sin, determine to provide His son as the necessary sacrifice for me? It was because of His mercy, it was His grace; the God of love made flesh came down and took my place! Oh hallelujah, I've been redeemed! Hallelujah, love died for me! Love died for me!
