The Gospel of Jesus Christ

3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” - John 3:3-8

1

Agree with your need for a savior

You must realize that you were born as a sinful man, as are all men, and are therefore separated from the Creator God. Your first declaration must be the confession of your sin and your agreement with the Truth of God's Word that you are truly dead in your sins. You must realize that you are a sinner and that there is no hope for your life without the mercy of God.

Romans 3:23

...23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...

Romans 3:10-12

10 as it is written,

“THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;

11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS,

THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;

12 ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS;

THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD,

THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE.”

2

Trust in Jesus for your salvation

Next, you must place your trust in Jesus as the ONLY way in which you can be saved from your sinful state. You must agree that there are NO WORKS of any kind which are able to make you right with God. You must believe that it is only the shed blood of Christ, His death on a cross, and His resurrection from the dead that is able to redeem you from your sin. Jesus alone is the one who is able to bring us into relationship with God.

Romans 10:9-10

...9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Luke 18:13-14

13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Repent (change direction) and follow Him

To become a disciple of Jesus, you must repent (change your direction/thinking) and make the decision to follow Him. This is a critical step in becoming a true believer in Jesus. The blood that He shed on the cross for you cost Him his life and as His disciples, we are to lay down our lives in surrender to His call.

Luke 9:23-24

...23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. 24 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it..

John 14:15

15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

If you have made a decision to follow Jesus, I would love to hear from you!

Thank you and God bless you!
